earthsong
a candle will burn in my window tonight, for I am on a vigil
I will drop the veil tonight and give water to the angels
I will curl among the tree roots and remember where I'm from
I will sit upon jagged rocks and wait for it to come
so gather your forces and rein in your horses and feel your heart beating like thunder
then listen until the spring becomes filled and drink from the well in wonder
and I'm falling, I am falling, falling through the air
I'm elated, I am fated and I disappear...
and there's voices in my head, and I'm sure I must be dead
cause I'm digging, I'm digging deep underground
and the dirt is alive and it's moving around me
in waves like an ocean, and I am surrounded by sound...
now what is the answer, insanity, chance, or belief in the moments that find you?
the earth is my healer, I love her, I feel her, in body, in essence she binds you
I will run into the wild hills and whisper with the wind
I will gallup, slither and crawl, and soar on wing and fin
so call on your will, and throw off the chill
and
feel how the fire smolders
then let the heat rise and reach through your eyes
embrace all the world and hold her
and I'm singing, I am singing, bringing power in
I am growing, I am flowing, I am whole again...
and I stand on sacred land
with my life held in my hands
and I'm breathing, I'm breathing, the air is like wine
and voices are laughing from somewhere behind me
and everything's glowing in patterns that shimmer and shine....
a candle will burn in my window tonight for I am on a vigil
I will drop the veil tonight and give water
to the angels
